Termscape — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 31 August 2026

Short version: Termscape collects nothing. It is a client for a server you run, and it talks only to that server. There is no Termscape account, no analytics, no tracking, and no developer-operated backend that could receive your data.

What Termscape is

Termscape is a terminal client for a self-hosted nodeterm Server Edition instance. You point it at a server you operate, over your own network, and it attaches to the terminal sessions running there. The app is a viewer and input surface; your data lives on your own server, not with us.

Data we collect

None. The developer operates no server, receives no telemetry, and has no account system. There are no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs in the app.

Data stored on your device

Microphone & speech (dictation)

If you use voice dictation, Termscape uses the microphone to capture audio for transcription. You choose the engine: Apple's on-device speech recognition (audio processed on your device), or your own server's Whisper transcription (audio sent to your server). In neither case is audio sent to the developer. Nothing is submitted until you review it and tap send.

Network activity

Termscape communicates only with the server address you configure. It makes no connections to developer-operated or third-party services.

Children

Termscape is a developer tool and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date above will change. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
